Job Seeker CHAIR

Why is the Job Seeker journey so important at Indeed?

Each year, we hire thousands of new employees at Indeed and engage with hundreds of thousands of potential candidates. Your candidate experience not only affects how Indeed is seen as prospective employer, but also sets the stage for the experience of our future Indeedians. (that’s what we officially call ourselves)

Across Indeed, we keep a seat at the table for the job seeker in every decision that we make about our business, including all departments and functions. In fact, it’s one of our five core values.

When hiring, we always strive to deliver a “wow” experience. To help accomplish this, we live by Indeed’s CHAIR Principles and strive to continually innovate hiring practices across the world.

As a recruiting and talent attraction team, we strive to be:

Compassionate:

We empathize with the stress of searching for a job and strive to create a positive experience. We are always patient, slow down and listen to each candidate. We consistently try to understand the candidate’s motivators, needs and unique job search situation.

Human:

We seek to connect with candidates through friendly, thoughtful and customized interactions. We get personal with candidates at every step to help candidates understand that they are important to us.

Authentic:

We nurture a genuine connection between our candidates and Indeed via a candidate-focused process that empowers them to showcase their skills. We are honest and thoughtful when providing feedback that is always meant to better the candidate. We aid candidates with resources and constructive feedback in hopes that each person has an opportunity to become a future Indeedian.

Inclusive:

We value and promote candidate diversity and differences to provide all candidates an equal opportunity to shine. We are mindful of every candidate’s physical, mental and emotional state. We make each candidate feel important and get all candidates excited about Indeed’s culture, regardless of their application outcome.

Responsible & Respectful:

We seek to understand and exceed candidate expectations. We take ownership of the hiring process by setting clear expectations and delivering on our promises. We are transparent by clearly and efficiently outlining next steps and collecting candidate feedback.

We are timely and proactive by approaching all candidate actions with a sense of urgency. We don’t delay sharing feedback and are respectful of all participants’ time in the process. We provide timely communication by anticipating and being responsive to candidate questions.
